International Harvester collection auction at Moama

“My dad was an International tractor man. After the war my father worked at the International dealership in Echuca. He liked the International brand,” Greg said. He has even named his cat Farmall. Greg’s first tractor was his grandfather’s Farmall H about 40 years ago, and since then he has collected about 200 Australian, American and British made tractors, trucks, headers, crawlers and machinery. After making the decision to retire and sell the farm, which has been in the family since 1908, Greg and his wife Sandra are selling most of his collection. Greg will be holding on to sentimental items, such as his grandfather’s tractor. Some of the big ticket items include a 310 Acremaster, a 564 Row Crop and an AM7 K, which is very rare. 2-row Corn Combine Harvesting Machine Landmark auctioneer John Moyle said there will be about 500 items, about 160 of them tractors, attracting people from all over Australia. YPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”> The 2018 Lamar Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Parade of Lights at 6pm on Friday, November 30th this year and the theme will be, ‘A Candy Cane Christmas’, according to event director, Jerry Roseberry. Solar Traffic Lights He said discussions are still being held for this year’s route, either north along Main Street now that highway construction leading to East Beech Street has been completed, or the relatively new route taken last year which still had entries assembled along the municipal swimming pool parking lot and passed by Strainhurst Court, traveling a mostly residential route on South 4th Street.  The parade crossed East Olive and entered directly into the Enchanted Forest adjacent to the Lamar Chamber offices.  Last year, instead of transporting Santa Claus, the Christmas train remained at the Enchanted Forest, providing rides before, during and after the parade while Santa made his debut in an open-top, horse-drawn wagon. Roseberry said those are the two current options and once a determination has been announc...

An insider told Page Six on Wednesday that the girls showed up to the club around 1 a.m. wearing the dresses and they ordered two bottles of tequila. Men’S Clothing Kent, 28, previously told Page Six that Alcoholics Anonymous saved her life, and she has been sober since Oct. 22. Once again, China’s richest region is pulling ahead of the others

MOTIVATIONAL SLOGANS do not get much blunter than the one hanging over the sewing machines in Li Zhiguo’s factory: “Work hard here to make money, don’t be disliked by your family”. He proudly holds up one of his products, a red chiffon dress with ruffled sleeves. Dozens more are wrapped up, awaiting shipment. It is a scene that, on the surface, should please Chinese leaders. Mr Li’s factory is in Baiguan, a poor town in the central province of Hunan. The government has long wanted to spur growth deep inside the country, in part by getting low-end industries to leave the prosperous coast and move to places like Baiguan. The money, managers and machines in Mr Li’s factory are almost all transplants from the coast. “There’s advantages to being here. It’s easier to find workers,” he says. But scratch a little deeper, and problems appear. Mr Li aims to have enough orders to keep a hundred workers busy. But business is so slack that he has only hired half that many. When Baiguan launched its industrial park three years ago, the government billed it as a new home for China’s textile industry. Today, the zone is pockmarked with vacant buildings. Workers may be paid less than on the coas...

2019 BMW S1000RR uses revolutionary frame technology

It might be the new ‘Shift Cam’ variable valve-timing technology that is making the headlines, but there is more to the 2019 BMW S1000RR than a new motor. It also includes a new frame and swingarm that is lighter and more flexible than before in a bid to make the bike easier and more forgiving to ride. “The main aim was to develop further enhanced riding dynamics as well as significantly reducing weight, compared to the predecessor model. We were able to meet this target by means of the new main frame: the engine is now much more closely integrated as a load-bearing element, and there are a whole range of optimised details,” explained Marcus Mund, Project Engineer Suspension. Dubbed the ‘Flex Frame’, the concept behind the frame is similar to before; a structure of four cast aluminium elements welded together using the engine as a stressed member and integrated at a 32-degree tilt. But in order to save weight, the top tubes, steering head and engine mounts are reduced in mass, relying on the engine more for an increased load-bearing function but with special effort for the load paths to the engine being as short as possible. The new frame als...

After waiting 29 years to realise his State of Origin dream, Cody Walker says he refuses

After waiting 29 years to realise his State of Origin dream, Cody Walker says he refuses to sulk at his controversial substitution and surrender his NSW No.6 jersey. Coach Brad Fittler’s tactics will come under scrutiny in post-mortems of the Blues’ 18-14 upset loss to Queensland on Wednesday. Midway through the second-half, Walker was pulled for Jack Wighton before returning with eight minutes remaining. In the time the South Sydney playmaker was off, Dane Gagai scored two tries as Queensland took the lead and never looked back. Fittler explained his decision by saying Walker was struggling to get into the game and he thought Wighton could spark the defending Origin champions. “When you’re brought off it’s part of the game when the coach has seen something. They acted on it and credit to them.” Utility Wighton trained all week at back-row and centre but Fittler decided to use him in the halves, with No.7 Nathan Cleary later admitting the move surprised him. “There’s times when the coach wants to bring you off, there’s times when the coach doesn’t want to bring you off,” he said. “I’m old enough know ...

‘Bikoy’ skips fraud probe, case submitted for resolution: lawyer

MANILA — State prosecutors will resolve a fraud complaint against the man who owned up to viral anti-government videos after he failed to appear at a pre-trial hearing for the second time on Tuesday. Peter Joemel Advincula, who said he was the hooded man “Bikoy” in the videos, also skipped a hearing on May 28. Benjamin delos Santos, the lawyer for the complainant, businessman Arven Valmores, told reporters that the case was submitted for resolution due to the accused’s absence.  The estafa complaint is unrelated to the videos. Advincula was accused of running away from his obligations in a beauty contest in Albay province in 2018. Valmores, president and CEO of Ardeur World Marketing, accused Advincula of using his corporate name and logo without his consent. On Tuesday, Valmores presented Danrick Capuz, the pageant’s production director, who submitted a sworn statement detailing how Advincula engaged him to recruit support staff while Advincula took care of sponsorship solicitations and the sale of production and promotional materials.   Advincula did not show up and could no longer be reached, Capuz said   Asked about Advincula’s absence from the heari...

Japan minister says high heels are ‘necessary and appropriate’ for women at work

More than 19,000 people have signed an online petition calling on Japan to enact a law to stop companies from being able to force female employees to wear high heels. But after the petition was submitted to the country’s labor ministry this week, health and labor minister Takumi Nemoto had this to say: Actress Yumi Ishikawa, 32, kicked off the #KuToo campaign, which is a pun on the Japanese words for shoe (kutsu) and pain (kutsuu), as well as a nod to the #MeToo movement. She told the New York Times that she was spurred to action after she had to switch jobs when standing in heels for eight hours while training for a hotel gig became too painful. (Indeed, the American Osteopathic society has said heels put the foot at an angle that pulls muscles and joints out of alignment, and women who wear heels for extended periods tend to suffer lower back, neck and shoulder pain.) The petition notes that Ishikawa is currently working part-time at a funeral service, where it is stipulated that she must wear pumps with heels, while male employees can wear more comfortable flats. It concludes with a line that translates into English as, “Aim for a world where choices are the same for men and ...

Pretreatment with β-Boswellic Acid Improves Blood Stasis Induced Endothelial Dysfunction: Role of eNOS Activation

In the meantime, to ensure continued support, we are displaying the site without styles and JavaScript. Vascular endothelial cells play an important role in modulating anti-thrombus and maintaining the natural function of vascular by secreting many active substances. β-boswellic acid (β-BA) is an active triterpenoid compound from the extract of boswellia serrate. In this study, it is demonstrated that β-BA ameliorates plasma coagulation parameters, protects endothelium from blood stasis induced injury and prevents blood stasis induced impairment of endothelium-dependent vasodilatation. Moreover, it is found that β-BA significantly increases nitric oxide (NO) and cyclic guanosine 3’, 5’-monophosphate (cGMP) levels in carotid aortas of blood stasis rats. To stimulate blood stasis-like conditions in vitro, human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were exposed to transient oxygen and glucose deprivation (OGD). Treatment of β-BA significantly increase...

9 Décor Details That Make Interior Designers Cringe

Professional interior designers notice things that most novices might not pick up on. This is especially true when it comes to the small décor details that can make a home look cheap (even if it isn’t). No matter your budget or lack thereof, certain details can make a space look instantly more luxe and expensive while others do just the opposite, making even the nicest of homes seem a bit off. In an effort to help you create a space that looks its very best, we turned to three interior designers to find out the seemingly small décor details that secretly make them cringe every time and what they’d do instead. Ahead, Becky Shea of Becky Shea Design, Jennifer Wallenstein of September Workshop, and Tina Rich of Tina Rich Design spill all of the little things that they think bring down the design value of a space. Here’s what they always notice and how to avoid common mistakes. According to Shea, the scale is one aspect that you’ll want to consider carefully when planning the layout of a space. “If furniture isn’t to scale with the room, you run into a space feeling sparse or cluttered,” the designer points out. “It’s not a good ...
